Hans Raj Hans

Hans Raj Hans was born in a small village near Jalandhar and is a very famous Punjabi singer. His parents were ordinary peasants. Though he had no musical background, he was attracted to music by Sitara Singh who was a street singer and used to sing Punjabi spiritual songs. Hans used to listen to him every day and this was the start of the journey of Hans and music. He was a disciple of Ustad Puran Shahkoti Singh, a Sufi singer, who gave him lessons in Sufism. In his college, Hans won the best singer award in his university for three years continuously.

His career started with a bang. He became an overnight hit after his song “Ni Vanjaaran Kuriey”. This song was purely classical and with this song Hans made the entire Punjabis dance to his tunes. Some of the famous songs sung by Hans Raj Hans are: -

He is a talented singer and had even worked with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He had also released some Indi pop albums of his own. These albums were a great hit and made him even more famous.
